ALAN BOOKMILLER SCORES FIRST ROC SPORTSMAN SERIES VICTORY THIS PAST SATURDAY AT WYOMING COUNTY INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY “THE BULLRING”

Alan Bookmiller of Castile, NY, inherited the lead after a late race restart and went on to win his first Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series at Wyoming County International Speedway “The Bullring” this past Saturday evening.

After a lengthy delay created by inclement weather, Bookmiller, who started third worked his way to second behind race leader Shawn Nye of Lancaster, NY, and ultimately took the lead with just a handful of laps remaining following a late race restart.

Bookmiller held off Daniel Majchrzak of Perry, NY, to make his way to victory lane.

“This is incredible,” stated an excited Bookmiller in victory lane. “It’s just me and my Dad and we’ve been getting better. We work hard at it. This is just exciting for us and I don’t think it’s sunk in yet. Winning at your home track is great. Winning with the Race of Champions feels even better.”

Jacob Christman of Walnutport, PA., captured finished third.

Andrew Lewis, Jr., of Ontario, NY posted the fastest recorded time in the final practice session, which was used for qualifying times due to the inclement weather. Lewis, Jr., Majchrzak and Kevin Timmerman of Ontario, NY, won the qualifying races.

Christman did double-duty Saturday and ran to victory in the Race of Champions Super Stock Series event. Christman had a spirited battle with Garrett Zacharias of Candor, NY before Zacharias slipped to seventh. Joe Mancuso of Buffalo, NY came home second with Josh Hunter of Derby, NY finishing third.

Nick Robinson of Waverly, NY, continued his winning ways in Race of Champions FOAR SCORE Four Cylinder Dash Series competition. Robinson held off Corey Edelman of Walnutport, PA, who finished second. Trisha Connolly of Palmerton, PA, finished third.

Kalysla DeMark of Horseheads, NY, won the Race of Champions Street Stock event. She was penalized for a post-race carburetor violation losing all earned points and money won for the event. Tim Welshans of South Wales, NY finished second and Nik Welshans of West Seneca, NY finished third.
