The BullRing
Home to the SST Super Stocks division
Perry, New York, is home to the SST Super Stocks division at The Bullring. This division may become the biggest, most competitive at the bullring. A true testament to the spirit of stock car racing, preserving its authentic characteristics and evoking the glory of NASCAR’s heyday. Imagine the legendary King Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt racing alongside Bobby Allison and Kenny Schrader, when race cars were built on production rear-wheel drive chassis modified to compete on the super speedways of America.
The SST Super Stocks at The BullRing may not be the exact replicas of the Cup Cars of the past, but they offer a close and affordable facsimile. The division prides itself on maintaining a consistent package that has remained largely unchanged for over 20 years. This stability has helped to keep the cars affordable, preventing them from becoming outdated. The body style of the SST Super Stocks is predominantly pre-1989 Monte Carlo or similar, with many original panels custom-made. The nose piece is an aftermarket polypropylene stamping, but at 90 MPH, the cars still exude a cool and sleek look.
Under the hood, the engines feature naturally aspirated Holley 500 carburetors and limited production OEM castings. Technology and horsepower have advanced steadily over the years, with some engines capable of producing over 400 HP. The feel of professional racing competition is within reach, offering great acceleration and the potential for thrilling maneuvers. Imagine nose-to-tail racing, side by side, pushing for the next hole to appear and take you to the front or a wrecker ride on the hook to the pits. The SST Super Stocks division in Perry provides an exhilarating experience that captures the essence of stock car racing.
The new and seasoned drivers joining the division in 2025 hail from diverse backgrounds. Some are seasoned dirt track drivers, while others are asphalt track veterans. Some teams consist of lifers who may compete in the full-body Saturday Night stock car realm for years to come. Others are rookie drivers competing with their families, learning the ropes at the next level. Some have returned to the circuit after their children grew up, while others have transitioned from different motorsports to join us on the semi-banked 1/3rdmile asphalt oval.
The unique nature of our speedway, founded in Perry, New York, has made it an enjoyable and competitive environment for everyone.
If you’re one of the new or returning teams to the BullRing, thank you. We eagerly anticipate the live entertainment and social gatherings of Super Short Track Racing of Wyoming County! Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you’re interested in joining the competition.
